Enter the Aland Hong Kong flagship store at Lee Theatre in Causeway Bay, and the friendly, well-dressed staff are not so easy to distinguish from the equally stylish young shoppers.
As you move through the maze-like store, K-Pop playing unobtrusively in the background, fashionable items jump out at you from every angle.
Browsing around, the space doesn’t seem to follow any particular order, and male and female sections are not often apparent – but that’s just part of the fun. A visit to Aland is an exploration, as you wind your way from one end to the other taking it all in.
Aland is a multi brand-clothing and accessories store from Korea that carries a unique range of items from young designers as well as trendy international labels.
Aland caters to both young men and women and offers a wide variety of stylish clothing from sweaters, jeans, shirts, and backpacks, to an entire wall dedicated to hats.
As a point of reference, Aland is somewhat similar to Urban Outfitters, except more fashion forward, and perhaps slightly higher priced. Scattered about the store you’ll find labels you’ve never heard of, next to of-the-moment pieces you’d find in fashion magazines.
In a break from Hong Kong tradition, the mid-priced store also includes a vintage section. On a recent trip to the Causeway Bay location, there were one-of-a-kind pieces ranging from leather skirts to American Army jackets.
As a multi-brand shop, Aland fills a niche, bringing together clothes with a little more personality and quirkiness than its neighbors Uniqlo, Cotton On, and Muji, located in the same building.
In addition to the large Causeway Bay location, Ã…land also has smaller branches at LCX in Harbour City, as well as at APM Mall in Kwun Tong.
