Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Jas Shaw shape bleeps and noise into soulful songs that suggest a variety of influences from Georgio Moroder and New Order, to old school Techno and forgotten rollerdisco Funk.
Above all, their sound achieves a balance between musicality and a driving dancefloor intensity.
Simian Mobile Disco, which is an offshoot of the band Simian, frequently travel the world playing at music festivals and clubs.
The group just announced a new album to be released in September, titled ‘Whorl’. You can get a sneak preview of their newest work in the video below.

One bit of music trivia, Simian were partially responsible for debuting the French group Justice, who gained notoriety after creating a remix of the band’s track “Never Be Alone”.
