Nguzunguzu, the Los Angeles based duo comprised of Asma Maroof and Daniel Pineda, specialize in creating masterful reconstructions that take acappellas, samples, and instrumentals, and weave them together in results that often surpass the original songs.
Friday, September 12th, at XXX you get to hear them work their magic live. Expect a genre-bending set that travels the roads between Hip Hop, R&B, House, and more contemporary sub-genres.
These are seasoned DJs, who frequently gig around the world, so their live show must be action-packed.
Recent Nguzunguzu mixes have a smooth flow with an interesting flair for the odd combination. Their technique is an update on what DJs have been doing since the early 80’s – experimenting with creating blends between diverse vocals and instrumentals.
