Art jamming spots that furnish you with paints and supplies are everywhere in Hong Kong these days, but what if you’d like to paint at home?
Though there are many stationary shops that carry a limited selection, for greater variety and better prices, try Artland in Wanchai, and CN Square in Yau Ma Tei.
Artland on Lockhart Road in Wanchai, is tucked away on the third floor of what looks like a 1970’s office building. Here you’ll find a good selection of art supplies including, papers, pens, markers, pencils, paints, clay, easels, brushes, and various other items that make it possible to create your next masterpiece at home.
There’s also a large children’s section with finger paints, crayons, washable markers, and other kid-friendly products.
CN Square, also known as Chung Nam Stationary, takes up five floors of a building on Nathan Road in Yau Ma Tei. They used to be on the bottom of Sai Yeung Choi Street in Mongkok, but relocated recently. The new space is similar to the last, with a diverse assortment of art products spread out across multiple floors. Prices are similar to Artland and there seems to be slightly more inventory.
Both are recommended!
