Far away from the chic interior of their IFC branch and the rotating shoe installation of Pacific Place, there exists another Lane Crawford.
Tucked away in sleepy Ap Lei Chau you’ll find a less flashy and more subdued place called the Lane Crawford Warehouse. Award winning interior design it’s not, but the Lane Crawford warehouse offers something else – a chance to find major additions to your wardrobe at major discounts!
We’re not talking items that have “last season” stamped all over them, but classic pieces by premium designers both big and small. I was surprised to see very unique items trickle down from the fashionable main stores. Perhaps this is where the masterpieces with the extra decimals go when their stock is not fully sold.
Posted against the wall in various places is a color-coded guide to additional discounts. Do not miss this. Depending on a small circular sticker, you can take an extra percentage off the current price written on the tag. Without these discounts, the prices may still seem high.
Checking a few items that initially featured astronomical prices, they were knocked down to reasonable and affordable levels. The range of sizes and variety was very good when I visited.
[photopress:lane_crawford_warehouse_Hon.jpg,full,pp_image]Even a rack of jeans (that should fly off the shelves,) featured premium designers and included normal sizes.
[photopress:Lane_Crawford_warehouse_Ap_.jpg,full,pp_image]There’s a full range of both casual and formal wear, in addition to accessories. The men’s section is particularly good.
[photopress:Horizon_plaza_ap_lei_chau_H.jpg,full,pp_image]The warehouse takes up nearly half the twenty-fifth floor of the large former industrial building. In addition to the Lane Crawford warehouse, Horizon Plaza shopping center also contains outlets by Joyce (21/F,) Giorgio Armani (22/F,) Bluebell (that includes Paul Smith, Blumarine, and Moschino) (22/F,) and Max Mara (27/F).

From Central, take the number 90 bus from Exchange Square Bus Station (street level, next to IFC,) or number 91 from the Central Ferry Piers, to Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus. From there, Horizon Plaza operates a convenient shuttle that goes back and forth every ten to thirty minutes, depending on the time and day of the week. Taking a taxi is an even easier option. If you choose to drive, parking is cheap at $15 HKD per hour.

Thanks for the scoop! I will for sure check it out when I fly back to Asia (include HK) this late Fall.
p.s: love your blog, keep it up 🙂
xo from Vancouver.
Thanks for the intel. I actually took a cab all the way out there once. Lol
From central, which central do you mean? My HKG geography is quite bad it seems..
“Depending on a small circular sticker, you can take an extra percentage off the current price written on the tag. Without these discounts, the prices may still seem high.” You mean there is already a preselected discount on the clothing or may we still ask for more at the service count?
Seems a very very nice place to do some good quality shopping, thanks!
Central is one of Hong Kong Island’s main neighborhoods. It’s a business district, as well as a major shopping area. The two starting points to take the bus to Ap Lei Chau are in Central (both are close to the IFC complex, which is a shopping center, transportation hub, and office tower.)
The price tags on the items are already discounted. PLUS, if they have a sticker on them, you can take an additional percentage off of that price. So, when you check out, it should also reflect that sticker-based discount.
Usually I stay in Yuen Long for most of the time, but I will certainly check this shop.
usually i stay in Tuen Mun but ill check this shop too =] THANK YOU VERY MUCHY
thanks for the dirt!
HKH,
I have a question.. does the LC warehouse sell Tees? I’m a huge fan of the tees that they have but always feel like they’re waaaaaay overpriced so if the warehouse has tees i’ll definitely go check it out. Great site by the way.
Absolutely! There was a large rack with very cool T shirts by an assortment of top designers. I made a mental note of that during my visit.
So I finally made it to your post!
I actually took my driving classes at the driving center opposite the ALC building, so I’m used to the 592 bus rides hehe
Again, great input, thanks for sharing!
if i take bus from Tsim sha Tsui, where should wait and what is the number of the bus? thanks
It would be easy to take Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central to catch either bus mentioned above. I think those will bring you the closest. Otherwise I believe you will need to transfer to a different bus in Aberdeen.
can i swim there from japan?
Sure! What part of Japan? I’ll send you directions! 😉
what actually are they selling-overuns or last seasons’?
Probably both!
Can i know the price range?
do they sell designer jeans like seven for all mankind and true religion?thanks
I LOVE YOUUUUU hahahaha now I kno where to go next time I ‘ll be back in HK ^^ thank youuuuu
If I take a cab there from central. How much will it be?
Hi Eileen,
I’d say it would be between $60 to $80 HKD.
Hi,
Im lookig for some wedding shoes would you say it would be worth a trip to have a look?
Thanks
Anna
Hey! In Tsim Sha Tsui and was thinking of making the trek out there! How reasonable are the prices in the Lane Crawford shop? Good range of shoes as well? Can’t wait to scope it out thanks so much for the post!
so, i’m sitting here in the states thinking I NEED to shop at this place!
thanks so much for the informative write-up!
do they have party dresses? graduation dresses?
Hi Janet, I haven’t been there in 6 months, so I don’t know for certain. It’s worth a trip to take a look as there are other ‘outlets’ as well in the same building.
this is so cool!!!
Hi there..
i just wanna check with u..
in this store is there any boots they sell?
Can i get the price range? UGG model?
thank u:)
looking forward to hear from u:)
how far is ap lei chau from centra? how many minutes will it take to get there if i take the bus? thanks!
Ap Lei Chau is about 20 minutes away from Central, depending on what type of transportation you take. The building, Horizon Plaza, with all of the outlets, is away from the main residential part of Ap Lei Chau, so it’s more convenient to just take a taxi.
Do any of the mentioned outlets or warehouse carry the brand–Moncler….I really LOVE their down jackets but their price is just too hopeless for me……Joyce or Lane Crawford warehouse would be my last hope…LOL
Hi there,I’m visiting hongkong for the first time beginning jan 2013.Im crazy about top designer brands.
Do they stock authentic Christian Louboutins,Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blanic,Chistrian Dior,Louis Vuitton bags and shoes in Horizontal Mall? Ill be staying in Cosmopolitan Hotel is is closeby? Is the a place where I can also get designer sunglasses at a discount?please recommend other places to visit that would be of interest to a fashion freak.when it come to clothes I prefer buying not so expensive brands like Zarra and Mango,do they have shops in hongkong
Yes! You’ll be happy exploring Hong Kong, which some have compared to “one big shopping mall”. Hong Kong boasts one of the world’s best selections of high-end fashion brands. Finding things at a discount may not be easy though. H.K. does have sample stores and other outlets, but they take some time to sift through.
The city is also home to H&M, Forever 21, Mango, Zara, UNIQLO etc. if you’re looking for something a little less expensive. Have fun! 🙂
Can’t wait to visit HK in Jan! Thanks for the Fab tip!
J’adore! Will check this out, so excited! x
