The Do-Over, L.A.’s daytime party that’s known for blissful beats, BBQ, and booze, is happening Sunday, September 6th, in the middle of Causeway Bay. The last time The Do-Over came to town in 2013, it packed an empty warehouse in Sai Ying Pun with over 1200 people!
The main draw of The Do-Over is the all-star line up of DJs who are all veterans of the cooler side of the music world. Normally the full line up is a surprise, but this time they assembled a crew including DJ Shortkut, DJ Day, King Britt, and Jamie Strong. Touring around the world, they promise to spread a little California sunshine everywhere they play.
The supporting Hong Kong based talent is no joke either, and includes names like Re:Flex, Yao, Woodtek and Eve Speciall.
The venue for the Do Over is a massive indoor / outdoor space hidden inside of Hysan Place shopping mall in the heart of Causeway Bay. The sprawling restaurant and patio makes it ideal as a venue in any weather. To access Shelter, take the elevators near the Hennessy Road side of the building up to the 7th floor. As soon as you exit the elevator, Shelter is on your right.
Sunday is the new Saturday?
Hong Kong is on fire right now with monthly Sunday afternoon parties. The last year has seen a huge increase in the number of promoters drawing major crowds for Sunday afternoon music fests. The Do-Over fits perfectly with this trend, and it starts at 3pm and goes until 10.
The genre-less party is a celebration of music and you can expect a casual, friendly atmosphere that’s a big contrast to the city’s club scene.
