Clockenflap is almost here and Hong Kong has perhaps never experienced a lineup this strong before. The two-day outdoor music festival that takes place on December first and second, has grown into one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated cultural events.
Now in its fifth season, Clockenflap boasts an incredible selection of local and foreign talent that speaks to a diverse range of Hong Kong’s residents.
Clockenflap 2012 features altogether 70 artists including numerous acts that would typically headline concerts on their own. The value spread out across multiple stages over two days is tremendous!
Something for everyone
Clockenflap’s 2012 lineup contains legends such as De La Soul and Primal Scream, as well as new sensations such as Azealia Banks and Alt-J. With Rock, classic Hip Hop, Indie Dance, and so many other genres, there’s truly a must-see act for every musical taste.
In addition to live music, Clockenflap also includes art installations, a craft village, and multi-media segments. For the full list of the artists and attractions, check out the Clockenflap site.
Local talent on tap
Best of all, Hong Kong’s own talent is not left out in the cold. On the menu for the two-day festival is a large number of local bands and DJ crews including Jun Kung, DP, Uptown Rockers, Robot, Noughts and Exes, Modern Children, Hungry Ghosts, and Chochukmo, to name just a few!
With a view of Hong Kong Island’s skyline in one direction and the gleaming skyscrapers of West Kowloon in the other, this is a dazzling setting for an outdoor festival.
This year they have expanded food and drink choices, so you can comfortably spend the entire day wandering from stage to stage, or just chill on the grass and grab some food.
Clockenflap was designed with families in mind and there are extensive attractions and facilities for children.
