Launch parties and anniversaries can be quite serious affairs in Hong Kong. Of particular importance is finding the right entertainment to match your brand and convey your message. So when you’re in a field that typically uses adjectives like ‘cool’ and ‘fresh’, who do you turn to?
Saturday night’s one-year anniversary for Rio Mints featured a memorable freestyle performance by American-born Chinese rapper, M.C. Jin. His verbal dexterity and on-the-spot wordplay had the typically tough crowd laughing and smiling (even before the alcohol kicked in!)
Rio, the mint company with an attitude (and exotic flavors,) launched their business last year with a splashy event at Dragon-i. The two parties both boasted a large turnout of top Hong Kong celebrities.
Jin’s performance was the clear highlight of the evening. For a seasoned battle M.C., well known in the U.S. for cutting his opponents down, he came across more like a gifted class clown with a quick wit and keen sense of humor.
Here are some photos from the Rio X Extravaganza X Guess party!
